PURPOSE
Summarize briefly the major function and purpose of the position. This position will create and revise engineering drawings of piece-parts and assemblies of complex designs involving dimensioning, tolerances, intricate details auxiliary views and projections from sketched, layouts or engineering data as required. Prepare bills of materials and engineering change notices. Investigate and complete required engineering changes to address manufacturing and assembly issues. Supervise the freezer assembly as the hands’ on person in the workshop. |
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
What are the minimum qualifications an employee must have in order to perform the duties of the position? (i.e. educational requirements, licenses, certification, work experience, training etc.) · Degree in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 6 years’ relevant experience. · Proficient in multiple technologies, products and applications. · Advanced knowledge of competing and alternative technologies. · Knowledge of freezing and refrigeration equipment is a plus. · Posses innovative skills to research and create new products / processes and broad industry knowledge. · A technical leader among internal and external peers. · Must be able to work in close cooperation with all areas of the business with a can do attitude, a high degree of urgency, and the ability to get things done. · Good organization and project planning skills. · Proven leadership ability. · Demonstrate proficiency in thinking creatively and project planning. · Must be familiar with the use of drafting standards, symbols, engineering terms, computer equipment, plotters, printers, etc. · Working capability in both Mandarin and English. |

What additional training will an employee require to continue to perform the duties of the position? Product lines, engineering and drafting standards, safety and hygiene standards for food service machinery. Movex business system. |
RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

N/A Indicate internal / external contacts and purpose of contacts. · Work with engineers in Helsingborg, designers and other departments closely to ensure the accuracy of the design projects. · Responsible for maintaining and updating a product-engineering schedule for all assigned sales orders and development projects. · Responsible for meeting all engineering release dates and communication of changes to the organization. · Responsible for maintaining and completing all assigned corrective actions reports pertaining to the product line. · Responsible for design, development, and technical validation of development projects. · Troubleshoot and diagnose products not operating within specifications and provide corrective actions for both manufacturing and customer issues. · Select appropriate materials and perform basic electrical analysis. · Documentation responsibility includes order entries, utility drawings, specification sheets, manuals, component and assembly drawings, and bill of materials. · Complete knowledge of drafting and tolerancing techniques including structuring of components into proper subassemblies and assemblies with associated bills of materials. . · Thorough knowledge of each 2D and 3D standard departmental drafting software. |
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY
Indicate budget / revenue responsibility. Coordinate input from manufacturing and materials to define cost reduction opportunities from standardization, design changes, and improved leveraging of new design technologies. Must work closely with Chief Engineers and Product Line Managers within the organization to insure that all system designs and the components used in designs have a high degree of synergy and interchangeability as appropriate.
Explain the degree of supervision / guidance, procedures / processes used, judgment, creativity, planning and resourcefulness needed to do the job. Receive direction from Chief engineers and Project Engineers to set broad objectives, interpret policy issues, develop new concepts and resolve unusual problems. Consistently demonstrate leadership in achieving divisional safety goals. Use independent judgment consistently and clearly demonstrates creativity and innovation in finding solutions and alternatives. Develop unique solutions for technical problems that may include the design of new systems or the development of solutions having few or no precedents.
