Job Purpose

Lead plant productivity and cost reduction initiatives, coordinate industrialization projects execution and champion Production System implementation. Drive continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to achieve towards manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multi function teams to achieve plant wide key performance indic ators in productivity, cost and projects execution.
Optimise manufacturing and value chain flow from raw material incoming to finish goods shipment.
Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing process. Drive related activities using Lean (e.g. process mapping, 6S, Visual Controls, Poke Yoke, 80/20) and Six Sigma techniques. Provide required training and coaching to implementation teams.
Consolidate and manage plant wide continuous improvement activities including but not limited to workstation design, manufac turing layout, standard hour definition and maintenance, cost reduction initiatives and overall factory productivity. Organise and lead review meetings. Track schedule, goals attainment and establish actions for gap closure. Monitor action progress and regularly publish reports to management. Support new business assessment and quotation process. Conduct reviews and ensure cost effective use of resources in floor space, people and equipment/tools in project execution.Be champion for plant PS implementation. Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement with functional owners. Prioritize actions and drive timely and effective implementation.
Organise and lead review meetings. Track related activities and report progress to management. Participate in cross sites PS learning and initiatives deployment. Support plant in cost management including preparation for annual operating plan (AOP), operation cost monitoring and non-product related purchas e rationalization. Perform cost analysis.
Ensure compliance to procedures and regulation in EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), Quality (ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) , state/federal regulations and as well as policies and procedures. Perform ergonomic analysis throughout the plant floor and offices. Implement ergonomic improvements and provide education to reduce the possibility of ergonomic injury within Shanghai.
Systems – Work with MES (Manufacturing Engineering System) to optimize existing systems and implement new systems to improve productivity / accuracy on the shop floor.
Provide leadership for the annual inventory process. Work closely with accounting, production and inventory control to reduce the cost / impact of the inventory process and improve accuracy.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or other related Engineering degree. Post graduate degree and certified Black Belt will be an adv antage.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
Minimum 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in Electronics/Electrical manufacturing industry.
At least 4 years ex perience in leading Industrial Engineering activities. Experience in Lean and productivity implementation.
Work related experiences would be an advantage.
Experience in dealing with complex matrix organization structure and cross cultural environment.
